Nearly 1,000 “Occupy Wall Street” protesters have marched toward New York's Foley Square, calling for an end to US wars.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to AFP quoting eyewitnesses, at least 20 protesters were arrested on Saturday after New York police blocked pedestrian traffic in downtown Manhattan.

The march coincided with Bank Transfer Day, a deadline activists had set for transferring funds from for-profit banking institutions into not-for-profit credit unions.

Demonstrators were beating on drums and carrying anti-war placards. They began their march from Zuccotti Park, where the Occupy Wall Street movement began.

Protesters also charged President Barack Obama with having a secret deal with bankers, whom he provides with immunity.
